Something That I'm Following
Something that I read recently that interests me is the incident that occurred with Jovan Belcher who is a starting linebacker of the Kansas City Chiefs. Belcher, who is 25 years old, shot the mother of his three month old child with both Belcher's mother and child watching. Shortly after shooting the mother of his child, Belcher hopped in his car and went to a practice session for the Chiefs. Belcher barged into the practice, thanked his head coach and manager, and shot himself in the head right there in that moment in front of them. Even after all of this happening, the Chiefs continued with their plans of practicing and preparing for their game that was coming up on Sunday. It shocked me that not only Belcher committed such acts, but also that the Chiefs planned on continuing to play when their player did such a thing. It was even more shocking that out of all the people Belcher could have spoken to for his last words, he went to whom he looked up to in football. This incident just shows how people are able to put football essentially in front of life.
