Turkey Day

Whenever I think of my past Thanksgiving's two major things come into my mind, eating and shopping.  Usually my family does the traditional meal which is turkey, ham, mash potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes and so on, but one year my family decided to change it up.  I remember my family from the Philippines was over that year and perhaps that is the reason why my family wanted to change our tradition, but nevertheless this change startled me. I remember coming out into the kitchen that morning thinking I was going to see some turkey and ham in the process of being cooked but I was startled when I saw a full pig sitting in a box waiting to be roasted.  My dad had created a fire pit to rotisserie the pig in the backyard and I was amazed.  The pig ended up tasting really good but I couldn't believe that I was eating a full rotisserie pig instead of the traditional turkey and ham.  That Thanksgiving was indeed bazaar to me but will be something that I will never forget.
